Pretzel Salad

Ever since you were gone, I started experimenting with different recipes.  This was a recipe I tried out for my birthday.  It turned out to be good and would like to share it with you.  I got the recipe from the internet,


2 c crushed Pretzels

3/4 c margarine, melted

3 Tbsp  Jewel brand sugar

1 (8 oz) light Jewel brand Cream Cheese

1 c sugar

1 (8 oz) Jewel brand light whipped cream, thawed

1 pkg Jewel brand Strawberry Gelatin (6 oz)

2 c boiling water

2 pkg  (10 oz) strawberries* 

     (I used fresh strawberries for this)


(1)  Mix crushed pretzels, margarine and 3 tablespoons of sugar and press into 9×13 inch pan.  Bake at 400 for 8 minutes.  Cool.

(2)  Mix softened cream cheese and 1 cup sugar.  Fold the 2 cups thawed whipping cream into cream cheese mixture and spread over cooled pretzel crust.  Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water and add strawberries.  Chill until syrupy, then pour the cream cheese layer and refrigerate.  Cut into squares and garnish with whipped topping and whole strawberry.  Enjoy!
