2. Bible is inerrrant

“Inerrant” – free from errors
testimony of God’s character
“mistaken errors” figures of speech; logic

Psalm 31:5   God is truth

“Into your hands I commit my spirit,

You have redeemed me, Yahweh!”
Titus 1:2   “and t give them hope of the eternal life that was promised so long ago by God.  He does not lie….”
Hebrews 6:18  “In the same way, when Go wanted to make the heirs to the promise thoroughly realise that his purpose ways was unalterable, he conveyed this by oath;  so that there would be two unalterable  things in which is impossible to God to be lying, and so that we, now we have found safety, should have a strong encouragement to take a firm grip on the hope that is held out to us”

3. Bible is authoritative
Psalm 119:142, 151, 116

Psalm 119…..169 “Yahweh may my cry approach your presence;

let your word endow me with perception;

Psalm 142

1… To Yahweh, my cry I plead

To Yahweh, my cry I entreat…..

May my entreaty reach your presence;

rescue me as you have promised.

May my lips proclaim your praise,

since you teach me your statutes

May my tongue recite your promise,

since all your commandments are righteous;

May your hand be there to help me,

since I have chosen your precepts.

174  I long for you, Yahweh, my Savior,

Your law is my delight….

Psalm 15

1  “Yahweh, who has the right to enter your tent,

or to live in your holy mountain?

The man whose way of life is blameless,

who always does what is right

who speaks the truth from his heart,

whose tongue is not used for slander,

who does no wrong to his fellow,

casts no discredit on his neighbor,

….If a man does all this, nathing can ever shake him.

Psalm 116

1  “Alleleuia!  I love!  For Yahweh listens to my entreaty

he bends down to listen to me when I call….”
Matthew 7: 24-29  “Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on a rock.  Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled them against the rock, and it did not fall.”
Psalm 19:7  ”  The law of Yahweh is perfect, new life for the soul;  the decree of Yaweh is trustworthy, wisdom for the simple.”

The Law of God is Perfect
John 17:17  ”  Consecrate them to the truth, your word is truth”
Matthew 5:18  “I tell you solemnly, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot,not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose has been achieved.”
Ephesians 4:21  “unless you failed tohear him properly when you were taught what the truth is in Jesus”

Are you going to build your house on rock? The wind blows, and it stands
or are you going to build your house in sand? The wind blows and it falls.

Conflict Resolution the Biblical Way

Conflict Resolution the Biblical Way
Teachings from Christ Community Church

“In your anger, do not sin.”

1. Do not use flight

Ephesians 4:25 “So, from now on, there must be no more lies: You must speak the truth to one another, since we are all parts of one another. Even it you are angry, you must not sin”

3 Reasons people choose flight
a) Belief all conflict is bad
b) Think we’re covering other people’s faults

* Mathew 18:15
“If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault.”

c) Self protection – sometimes afraid of confrontation or afraid of rejection

Ephesians 4:26
Do not let the sun go down while still angry
27 Do not give the devil a foothold

Devil – slander

2. Do not fight

Ephesians 4: 29 -31 “Guard against foul talk; let your words be for the improvement of others, as occasion offers, and do good to your listeners, otherwise, you will only be grieving the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with His seal for you to be set free when the day comes. Never have grudges against others, or lose your temper, or raise your voice to anybody, or call each other names

Proverbs 12:18 “Reckless words pierce like a sword”

* Puts reconciliation out of reach, out of bounds, unrestrained anger

* Get rid of all bitterness, rage. Never use our strength to take advantage of other people

3. God’s Way. Unite.

Ephesians 4:25 We are all members of one body

Romans 12:18 “Live in peace with everyone” — Requires work

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ / God has forgiven you

— attitude and action

Quotes from the Wise…

“An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast;

      A wild beast may wound your body;

     but an evil friend will wound your mind.”

Pretzel Salad

Ever since you were gone, I started experimenting with different recipes.  This was a recipe I tried out for my birthday.  It turned out to be good and would like to share it with you.  I got the recipe from the internet,  www.JustaPinch.com.

Ingredients:

2 c crushed Pretzels

3/4 c margarine, melted

3 Tbsp  Jewel brand sugar

1 (8 oz) light Jewel brand Cream Cheese

1 c sugar

1 (8 oz) Jewel brand light whipped cream, thawed

1 pkg Jewel brand Strawberry Gelatin (6 oz)

2 c boiling water

2 pkg  (10 oz) strawberries*

     (I used fresh strawberries for this)

Directions:

(1)  Mix crushed pretzels, margarine and 3 tablespoons of sugar and press into 9×13 inch pan.  Bake at 400 for 8 minutes.  Cool.

(2)  Mix softened cream cheese and 1 cup sugar.  Fold the 2 cups thawed whipping cream into cream cheese mixture and spread over cooled pretzel crust.  Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water and add strawberries.  Chill until syrupy, then pour the cream cheese layer and refrigerate.  Cut into squares and garnish with whipped topping and whole strawberry.  Enjoy!

Making Decisions IV

Church teachings…

The last session on “Making Decisions” is where the difference lies in Christians and non-Christians.

As a Christian,
we should make our decisions
and ask this question:

“What would be most honoring to God?”

It means that:
I am here to give God honor
in everything I do..

1 Corinthians 6: 19 – 20
“Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you,
whom you received from God?
You are not your own;
you were bought with a price.
Therefore, honor God with your body.”

When you make decisions
based on bible teachings…
Your world becomes brighter

When you make decisions
Not based on truth
Darkness continues to fill your life.

In Matthew 5:14
“You are the light of the world
A city in the hill cannot be hidden.”

This can be a dangerous question
(for people misinterpret things…
like cults and other religous belief.
They somehow forgot that
God is love)

The question,
“What is most honoring to God?”
will draw you to a life
God wants you to be.

You are created to reflect
God’s light

For your glory is too small a thing to live for;
it’s all about God’s glory.

When we make decisions
and the outcome is good…
We then say,
“Thank God for his blessings”
and pass on the praise
and credit other people
who helped along the way.

Non Christians
like to credit themselves
for the good outcome

They are generally selfish
and self centered…
They think that
they are #1
and the world sees them bragging
their achievements.

Christians are humble
and know that
it was God who blesses them
and pass on the achievement
and credit other people
who have helped them
achieve what they have accomplished
and praise God.
